This dev diary walkthrough explains the basic gameplay mechanics in Dead To Rights: Retribution. It is set in a trainyard section, and demonstrates the interplay between Shadow and hero Jack Slate as well as the seamlessness of firing off a few rounds and throwing a few punches. Dead to Rights: Retribution is an upcoming reimagining to the 2002 third-person action game franchise Dead to Rights starring Grant City police officer Jack Slate and his K-9 companion Shadow. Developed by Volatile Games and published by Namco Bandai Games America for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the game is currently slated for release in April 2010. After a near four year hiatus, this marks the series’ first outing onto next gen consoles. Jack Slate will be proficient with weapons like shotguns, automated rifles, and pistols. You’ll be able to carry two weapons at a time (as well as grenades), and, as with hand-to-hand combat, you’ll be able to deliver weapon-based finishers that are just as devastating. Your gun won’t be something you keep forever; once you empty your cartridge you can toss the gun, and then you can disarm another opponent and take his weapon. Similarly, later in the game, enemies will be able to disarm you as well. Retribution revels in giving you the ability to dispatch multiple foes using the fighting system. Whether it’s grabbing one enemy and then delivering a devastating kick to an enemy behind you, or simply putting down a foe with a bloody and forceful takedown. The

Racing down the carriages throwing each door he came to open. Snake was being pursued by a dozen creatures from the mall but this time they were different. They grew in size, their screams turned to bellows and their strength no doubt increased. Sprinting for his life Snake fired his gun behind him lighting up the darkened carriages holding them back. He makes his way in to the last carriage slamming the door shut behind him. The wound on his arm had reopened from the chase. It was all going to hell for him. Losing blood and no where to run Snake took his steel pipe and jammed the door by its handle and the wall. Taking what little time he had alone he looked for a way to stop the train. A quick glance shown that the train was running automatically, it’d only stop at the next platform! A loud crash startled Snake to look back at the jammed door. The monsters were charging through, bending the steel pipe. He had little time to get to the door and he rushed. Firing all the bullets he had in to the monsters through the door window he managed to slam his body up against the door holding them back for a little longer. Hearing their deafening screams up close, Snake was getting dizzy. Their barrage only seemed to get stronger through time. Blood crazed from the smell of Snake’s open wound, they reached through the window desperately trying to bite away at his face.
